Meet-The-Teacher
Mallorie Howe
Hi, I am Miss Mallorie! I am the instructor and owner of BigFoot Dance Studio.
I have always loved to dance, move and create, and I have a true passion for the arts. I began my journey with dance during the summer before 6th grade and my love and true passion for dance was immediate. My training began with Rosemary Tatum at San Antonio Dance Academy in San Antonio. While dancing at SADA, I studied Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Hip Hop and Contemporary. I had the privilege of attending workshops in New York for musical theatre and dance, including one for the Broadway hit Newsies. I was also a member of my high school dance team, where I was part of a state championship team. I have danced and choreographed for musicals, and taught dance to non-dancers during stage productions. I have also professionally performed for national commercials as a young dancer and actress. I am also a member of the professional Stardust Dance Company, an international contemporary dance troupe. I have studied under Rosemary Tatum, Tara Smartnick, Jessie Smartnick, Michelle Becken, Fa Winsbourgh, Molly Waldner, Charles Barksdale, Garyon Judon, Abel Coelho, Adriano De Rosa, and many others. After years of training, dance, dozens of dance recitals, professional dance performances, theatre performances, and professional acting experiences, I have decided to make dance a part of my undergraduate degree plan. I will be pursing my undergraduate studies at the University of Houston where I will plan on receiving my degree/s in Dance as well as American Sign Language Interpreting. I made my decision to open an annual summer dance program in Kenedy because I want to share my love of dance and have others find joy in the power of dance and movement. I do not believe that dance should be a competition but a journey of fun and fitness. Although young, I have a passion for dance and students of all ages. I don't know who I would be without dance and the many ways it has affected my life. I am so thankful and I wish to give people understanding of how dance is so important. I am so excited to be on this great adventure in a wonderful town and hope that you will join me. Please stop by and check out the beginning of a very active studio, a friendly place to dance. I will continue to attend, workshops, dance clinics, and be involved in choreography in stage productions in San Antonio as well as dancing professionally with Stardust dance. This knowledge I will always bring to the studio and my students. |
